"All I Want For Christmas" is a seasonal meme hosted by Danya at A Tapestry of Words. Every week until Christmas Danya invites bloggers to share a book on their wish list. Sounds like fun!
My first pick for this is "Women of Magdalene." I've seen it reviewed a couple of times and it has really caught my attention.
After years of serving as a wartime surgeon, Robert mallory is accoustomed to soldiers missing limbs. At the Magdalene Ladies Lunatic Asylum, he learns that the women are missing pieces, not of their bodies but of their lives. And he finds that his employer, Dr. Kingston, is also missing sometning: a conscience.
As Robert comes closer to understanding Kingston's part in the cruel treatment and sudden deaths of certain patients, Kingston abruptly sends him away. Robert must escort a patient, Effie Rampling, to New Orleans, and the journey transforms them both.

Thanks for linking up, Sharon! Wow, I haven't heard of this book before but it sounds really intense (and I'm intrigued by the psychological element there).
