Since I joined my first challenge last year I've read a greater variety of books, more classics, more genres. I remember toward the end of last year feeling trapped, so I held back on the number and type of challenges I joined this year. However just today I joined 3 more challenges. Two were mini challenges of only two books each the other was a commitment of 10 books from the Guardian's list of 1000 Novels Everyone Must Read Before They Die. That makes a total of 11 challenges. Two of them will be ongoing, Books Around the States and Books Around the World. My personal challenge, the 5x4 Challenge, includes 4 books in 5 areas that I don't normally choose books from. These of course will all go toward my goal of 100+ books this year. The rub is that I don't plan out my reading just buy or check out anything that catches my fancy. I figure I had better start planning if I want to get these all in. So.........

Just look what I won at J. Kaye's Book Blog! I have wanted to read a Baldacci book but have never gone ahead and picked one up. Thanks! J. Kaye.
J. Kaye is always having contests and I was lucky enough to have won this one. You'll enjoy reading the reviews there as well. The number and variety of books she reads and reviews is staggering! I joined several of the book challenges she is hosting.
