I am reading this book and three other Harold Bell Wright books for two of my challenges this year. I chose this author because one of my favorite books ever it his Shepherd of the Hills. It is a wonderful book that I have read several times over the years. Becausse of it I started buying other titles of his when browsing at antique stores. What a fun way to begin my 2014 reading journey. This outlandish novel had me lol-ing from the first page. Do you need a break from the serious stuff or just enjoy a comic novel this is it.

I met and exceeded my goal of one hundred books. However I didn't keep track of them on my blog, just on Gooodreads. This put me out of touch with my fellow book bloggers. The kids lived with us for 8 months, which was quite a life changing event but one I wouldn't change for anything. My husband and I have both had medical issues this year as well which slowed me down. And now my 87 year old father is in need of care for a broken arm. But God is good and he is seeing us through. There are so many books to read both old and new that I will never get to them all but I sure try to buy as many of them as I can. I am sad to say that I did not meet my own personal 5x4 Reading Challenge goal but came closer than last year. Perhaps I'll do better next year on my personal challenge. I did read over 100 books this year.
